Michelle Williams 2012

March 2012

Michelle Williams In Valentino – ‘My Week With Marilyn’ Japan Press Conference

In Tokyo, Japan, Michelle Williams attended a press conference at the ‘Imperial Hotel’ for her movie, ‘My Week With Marilyn’.
On this occasion she wore something more colourful, opting for a watermelon-pink Valentino dress.
Her gorgeous dress with an asymmetrical neckline and bow on the shoulder was kept simple once again with just nude peep-toes.
A soft pink colour perfected her pout.

Michelle Williams In Alexander McQueen – ‘My Week with Marilyn’ Japan Premiere

Awards season might be over, but Michelle Williams is still promoting ‘My Week With Marilyn’.
Michelle opted for a very simple Alexander McQueen oyster-white draped dress from the Spring 2012 collection.
No accessories, no jewels, just a gorgeous white dress with dark pink lips.
The beauty of this look is in its simplicity.

Michelle Williams In Louis Vuitton – 2012 Oscars
Best Actress’ nominee Michelle Williams surprised us all by wearing one of the most vibrant colours on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars, held in LA this evening.
While her Louis Vuitton dress looked red on screen, it looks coral in these pictures and Louis Vuitton is calling it burnt orange.
Between the ruched bustline and peplum skirt, I love the 1950’s prom vibe this dress gives off.
The modern meets retro look is perfect for Michelle, especially as she is nominated for her role as the iconic Marilyn Monroe.
A bright red lippie, a Bottega Veneta blush crocodile knot clutch and Forever Mark jewels complete the look.

Michelle Williams In Louis Vuitton – 2012 Independent Spirit Awards

Michelle Williams was triumphant at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards, held  in Santa Monica, California, as she took home the ‘Best Female Lead’ award for her role as Marilyn Monroe in ‘My Week with Marilyn’.
She opted to wear a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 ensemble.
I know many of you are pulling your hair out every time you see Michelle wearing black-and-white, so how do you feel about navy-and-white?
Whilst Michelle does look good in her navy short suit, the look is not as fun as I was hoping would be for this event.
As presented, the look feels very ‘first day back at school’ with the buttoned up blazer.
The only thing missing is a Cambridge satchel to give this look a real school uniform vibe, but she opted for an Olympia Le-Tan ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ embroidered clutch.

Michelle Williams In Givenchy – 7th Annual ‘Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film’ Pre-Academy Awards Event

Michelle Williams was in Santa Monica yesterday to attend the 7th Annual ‘Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film’ Pre-Academy Awards event at Bad Robot.
Sticking to a tried and trusted formula, the Oscar nominated actress wore a Givenchy Fall 2012 dress which is yet to be presented.
Her black sleeveless dress with white satin trims and ruffled detailed skirt was teamed with black YSL TribToo’s and a Nancy Gonzalez crocodile box clutch.
Whilst I do love this look, as it’s cute, girlie and very much in tune with Michelle’s style, I’m also having a strong feeling of déjà vu.

Michelle Williams attended a photocall for ‘My Week With Marilyn Monroe’ during the Berlinale Film Festival on Friday.
The actress opted for a cutesy look, wearing a Kenzo black-and-white wavey-striped dress with a blue-and-green tassel detail on the shoulders.
Her 60s mod look was teamed with Chanel toe-cap pumps, barely-there makeup and no jewelry.
The only pop of colour came via her red nails.

Michelle Williams was in Paris for the premiere of her latest movie, ‘My Week With Marilyn.’
The romance of the city must have been contagious, as Michelle wore a princess-esque Christian Dior Spring 2011 Couture gown rather than a prim, neutral-coloured frock that she tends to favour.
Her pale pink strapless silk gown poufs out into a large bell-shaped skirt with a rise-and-fall hemline which leads out into a train.
On a bed of tulle, I love how the silver, lightly embellished floral design cascades from the top of the bow accented bodice down one side of her gown.
My best guess for this drastic style change is that Michelle gave her stylist the night off, and let her six-year-old daughter choose her look for the night, as it’s the stuff little girls dreams are made of.
Silver Dior peep-toes and a glossy red lip colour which matched nails completed this BDOTW worthy look.

Michelle Williams In H&M Bespoke – 2012 BAFTA Awards

After a brief stint with colour at the SAG Awards, Michelle Williams was back to black and white at the 2012 BAFTA Awards.
The ‘Best Actress’ nominee returned to her comfort zone in a strapless H&M Bespoke ivory-and-black gown.
This is a grand effort from H&M, but it’s certainly nothing new.
Michelle saves it with glamorous styling.
Her bold red lips and a dark manicure stand out, while a Fred Leighton for Forevermark necklace and an Olympia Le-Tan clutch add some personality.

Michelle Williams was at The Beverly Hilton hotel in California for the 84th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon.
The actress, who is nominated for her lead performance in ‘My Week With Marilyn’, wore her second look from the Victoria, Victoria Beckham Spring 2012 collection.
Her sleeveless collared ivory dress with clouds and sequin details replicating rain is a laidback event-appropriate choice, but her whimsical dress was let down majorly by some unimpressive black pumps.
The overall look would’ve looked much better with some interesting footwear.
The Giuseppe Zanotti toe-cap pumps immediately spring to mind, or the Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 Mary Janes.
Beauty-wise she opted for a deep rouge lip colour and rosy cheeks.

Michelle Williams In Erdem & Balenciaga – Late Show With David Letterman

Many of you have been struggling to get excited about Michelle Williams’ style, citing lack of sexy appeal as your reason.
Amber Heard pretty much has that section of the red carpet covered, so I was personally happy to see Michelle give us a romantic spring florals as she arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theatre this week in New York City for a guest appearance on the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’.
This is the third time the ‘My Week With Marilyn’ actress has worn an Erdem dress. On this occasion she donned look from the Spring 2012 collection.
Her yellow, green and blue printed shift dress was teamed with Giuseppe Zanotti grey suede peep-toes.
I love the red lipstick.

After the show, the Oscar nominee wore a Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2011 black double-breasted coat with a contrasting shearling collar coat.

Michelle Williams In Valentino – 2012 SAG Awards

After seeing so many neutral shades on the red carpet at the 2012 SAG Awards, Michelle Williams added a bright pop of colour.
She looked heavenly wearing a red asymmetrical Valentino gown with a gathered waist and lace details.
Her dress was teamed with matching Roger Vivier ‘Cage’ sandals, a Lanvin ‘Red Passion’ minaudiere with a gold trim and Fred Leighton jewels.
This dress suits Michelle’s demure style, but I can’t help wishing she’d taken a bit of a racy risk and opted for a sans lace version of this dress.

Michelle Williams In Victoria by Victoria Beckham – BAFTA Annual Awards Season Tea Party

Michelle Williams attended the BAFTA Los Angeles 18th Annual Awards Season Tea Party  in Beverly Hills, California.
She opted to wear a Victoria by Victoria Beckham Spring 2012 drop-waist dress.
We’ve already seen Victoria Beckham and Celine Buckens wear the pink-and-black version of this dress, but Michelle opted for the white-and-black colour-block dress.
The girlieness of her dress was toned down with simple black patent pumps and a black leather clutch.
Neutral makeup completed her look.
I much prefer this dress in pink and black. It doesn’t have the same impact in black and white.

Michelle Williams In Jason Wu – 2012 Golden Globe Awards

Michelle Williams surprisingly didn’t opt for her favourite colours, nude and white, on the red carpet for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards.
Jason Wu’s custom midnight-blue devore velvet gown was minimally styled with a Fred Leighton for Forevermark diamond garland headband and Fred Leighton for Forevermark diamond stud earrings.
I love the relaxed, girlie vibe of this effortless look.
Many of you had very high expectations for Michelle.
A Judith Leiber clutch completed her look.

Michelle Williams In Chanel – 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards

ichelle Williams returned to the red carpet for the 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards this evening.
On this occasion she wore a Chanel Resort 2012 dress.
Her classic black and white dress adorned with an embellished belt, may not be the bold colour many of us are hoping to see from Michelle, but her look is very impactful nonetheless.
Michelle’s styling was very simple with a quilted Chanel clutch and Fred Leighton for Forevermark jewels.
A copper lip colour matched her strawberry blonde cropped do.
This gets a huge thumbs up from me.

Michelle Williams In Versace – ‘A Promise Of Beauty And Brilliance’ Golden Globe Awards Event

Michelle Williams took a night off wearing nude whilst attending the Forevermark and InStyle ‘Beauty & Brilliance’ celebration held at Bar Nineteen within the Beverly Hills Hotel in California yesterday.
The actress was glowing wearing a Versace Spring 2012 dress.
Her white pleated, draped dress was accessorized with a gold studded belt.
Champagne-coloured Versace sandals were the perfect finishing touch.
I already can’t wait to see what she wears next.

Michelle Williams In Jason Wu – “My Week With Marilyn” Lunch

Michelle Williams was the guest of honour alongside co-star Kenneth Branagh at a lunch event recognizing the their hit movie, ‘My Week With Marilyn’, hosted by Jean Shafiroff and the Weinstein Company in LA
The actress looked predictably adorable in a crew-neck striped sweater and matching burgundy leather pencil skirt from the recent Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 collection.
I love how impeccably well put together this look is, even if everything seems a matchy-matchy right down to her nude Miu Miu peep-toes and deep-red pedicure.
A newly-dyed reddish-blonde pixie cut and neutral makeup complete the look.

Michelle Williams In Miu Miu – 2012 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala

Michelle Williams accepted the ‘Achievement Award’ for her role as Marilyn Monroe in ‘My Week with Marilyn’ at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala.
Debuting a darker strawberry blonde ‘do, Michelle wore a champagne Miu Miu silk and beaded dress.
The beaded top looks quite beautiful on Michelle, as the bronzed beads in particular highlight her new hair colour and strappy sandals.
The silk skirt, however, looks wrinkled and therefore brings the entire look down.
As Michelle steps out in yet another neutral-coloured dress, we can only hope that she is saving her coloured choices to wow us during awards season.
Her mustard-yellow Vera Wang gown at the 2006 Academy Awards is one of my personal favourite red carpet moments of all time, and I would love to see a repeat magic moment come February.
Prada bronze vernice platform cross-strap heels completed her look.

Michelle Williams In Jason Wu – The Tonight Show With Jay Leno

Michelle Williams visited ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ yesterday to talk about her latest movie, ‘My Week With Marilyn’.
The Golden Globe nominated actress looked lovely wearing a Jason Wu Spring 2012 dress.
The black and ivory silk gazar dress with peplum skirt is decorated with Swarovski elements.
Her sleeveless dress was paired with Fendi black patent bow front peep-toes and a simple ring.
Orange nail polish, kohl rimmed eyes and a dark pink lip colour completed her look.
With awards season around the corner, I can’t wait to see more of Michelle on the red carpet.
My only request is that she stay away from blush and nude colours as she’s done that to death.
